Michael is a chartered process engineer with over 10 years’ experience in process plant design and optimisation, including numerous site-based roles in commissioning, ramp-up and operations.
Much of Michael’s experience has been gained in the alumina industry, particularly in the design and operation of Hatch’s Tube Digestion technology.
Most recently, Michael has led a number of projects focusing on the application of new technologies and digital methods to enhance refinery operations.
Digital maturity in process plants
The extent to which modern digital technologies are embraced to generate, contextualise, and act on data is termed “digital maturity.”
In plant operations, digital maturity includes a number of areas currently seeing rapid evolution, such as condition-based monitoring, predictive analytics, mathematical optimisation, IIoT, and cloud computing. In this presentation, Michael will take us through the various stages of digital maturity and share examples of Hatch’s innovative work for our clients.
